Reflections on an Awesome Weekend
What an awesome weekend in Tulsa, OK and Fayetteville, AR. First off, special thanks to my buddies Min Kim and Daniel Vang for having me over and for being amazing hosts. You told me that things are usually way slower in that area than what I’m used to but I never got that feeling at all, thanks to you guys. Second, thanks so much to all the dope people I met there who support me. You know who you are. It blows my mind how I have fans in a place where I had previously never been. You guys are awesome and I really wish I could have stayed longer and hung out with y’all. I hope to be back again sometime for sure. Until then, best wishes from me wherever I am. Oh, and Jerry, thanks for your hospitality and also for you know what.
And here’s the somewhat play-by-play. Flew in to Tulsa late Friday night and met up with Min, Daniel and a couple other people. Had a few drinks at the hotel and then headed out to a really cool wine bar and had some more delicious drinks. Chilled for a while longer and eventually made our way back to the hotel and passed out at around 3am.
Saturday morning. Up and ready by around 11am and then we took off for Fayetteville, which was about an hour and a half drive. I, being a really really smart person, made sure to pack my camera with a fully charged battery and plenty of memory and then forgot it at the hotel when we took off. So all of the pictures below are stolen from friends’ facebook photos :) There will probably be more that pop up in the next few days, but here are the ones that I’ve seen so far! Photo credit to: Carol Yang, Jess Thavisay, Liz Evans, Khampian Vang, and Anna Hanesana!
First event, the benefit concert. Did a short mini set, which turned out pretty well!

With a bunch of the girls after the show! Props to everyone else who performed, y’all were dope :)

With some of the boys!

After the event, headed to Jerry’s to chill until the event at night. Took a mini power nap and recharged. Then eventually headed to the club for soundcheck. Props to DJ Palistine for his patience and insight during setup. Doors opened, met a bunch of great people, then layed down my set a little past midnight. People seemed to like it, I’m glad :)

After I finished, people started buying me drinks and the rest is history.

Min!!

Adrienne, you are one cool cat.

Anna & Jess

Then eventually headed over to get pho nearby at like 3am.
Liz & Diana!

Diana!

They made me sign them.

Jerry!

Then headed to Jerry’s to chill. And stuff. Then headed back to Tulsa a bit late, which was totally my fault and then almost missed my 8am flight on Sunday morning. Luckily the plane was twenty minutes late coming to the gate so I made it just in time. Got on the plane. Used the little paper bag provided in the back of each seat. Transferred in Dallas. Flew home to LA. An epic weekend indeed.
Thanks everyone!
